There are so many reasons to love this book. I am a sucker for solid, scientific facts, but what really pulled me into this one and held me there was Wim’s enthusiasm and absolute joy in what he teaches.

The role of attitude and mindset comes up time and time again – because it’s SO IMPORTANT. I love to see it emphasised across all kinds of areas, from the health and wellness sphere and to the world of finance, commerce, influence and high-stakes trading. Everyone’s talking about it, and this book encapsulates it in this arena with a series of breathing exercises designed to help you feel connected to your body. The mental shift is amazing. And don’t even get me started on the cold showers. I have always been a hot-shower person – the more stream the better – but after gradually turning down the dial at the end of the shower and getting cooler and cooler, I can honestly say that I enjoy the sensation of freezing water hitting my skin. That’s not to say I actively pursue it anywhere else yet, but it’s on the horizon – I feel so good afterwards, clear, refreshed and rejuvenated. The trepidation of the moment before, when your body is warm, is more than compensated afterwards by the feeling of clarity you get – everything glows.
