I know the analogy is a little sketchy but just go with it 😬

I’ve loved astrology for years. I flirted with it as a teenager, got to know better through my 20s, and then settled down with it seriously in my 30s. Here, in my 40s, we have a good solid relationship. We’ve seen each other through ups and downs, I’ve disagreed about several things only to come back around to them later, and I’ve followed transits and learned more about myself and my loved ones that from any other modality. Astrology has always been there for me, nonjudgemental and unassuming, just hanging out patiently with an endless amount of answers and potential. It’s a literal universe of knowledge waiting to be explored. I adore learning and the fact that I will never ever get to the end of learning all there is to know about astrology absolutely lights me up. Sharing this relationship with people also lights me up. I love to read people’s charts back to them and see their eyes go wide and their faces smile, and hear them say oh my God that’s so me, that’s crazy.
However, I guess I still have a little bit of that flirty energy. I definitely have a long-term romance going with tarot, and EFT tapping has wormed its way into my life to become a constant presence. Reiki is a soul sister, a blessing from the universe that I get to share with joy. I don’t know enough about numerology or the enneagram, but when I hear experts talk about it I get fully invested. And then there’s human design…
I fell hard for human design. I found it – as one always does – through a series of synchronicities that was so complex I can’t even start to follow them again now. Once I learned about my Human Design type, I was absolutely hooked. It explained something about my energy that nothing so far has been able to explain to me – not even my beloved astrology, with all its complexities, have been able to describe the forcefield of energy that comes from my body. And I think the body part of it is the missing element. I love to bring astrology down to practicality, and help people to literally embody the things that I find in their charts. I do this on my own too. With human design, I found something that says this is how your body lives in this world.
So for all my human design nerds out there, I am a 2/4 emotional manifesting. In a very very very small nutshell, this means I like to do things on my own, and other people like to know what I’m doing. It means that the best way for me to make a decision is to follow my emotional wave. And, hugely for me, it means that my energy is intense (not in terms of having energy with which to do stuff, unfortunately 😂 I still experience chronic fatigue), and other people will react to it, being fully attracted to or fully repelled by me, without either of us having any clear understanding of why.
I’m married to a projector, and we have four children who are each one of the main human design types. The only thing we are missing in the family is a reflector, the rarest of human design types, and the joke is that my husband would’ve loved a fifth baby and I like to believe that that’s what we would’ve had. Human design is as complex as astrology, with its all gates and channels, planets and transits. It will take a long, long time for me to get to know human design as well as I know astrology, and, of course, since I continue to learn astrology all the time, these two will never be on a par. So for now, I talk to people about their human design in the most simple of ways, totally happy that, even with my limited knowledge, what I can offer them can be as beneficial to them as finding out that simple information was to me.
I’m still true to my original love, but I’m definitely polyamorous these days. I really enjoy having an extra element to add to my discussions with people – I reassure them that the way their energy behaves is normal for them! You’d be surprised how many people end up breathing a sigh of relief when they hear that.
If you’d like to support this publication for the price of a good slice of cake, it would really help me to continue offering this work ☺️
